Progress

Yesterday (September 15th) we had a short meeting, in which we talked about everything we found (or did not find). In the meeting we discovered that some people had the same information and we cannot use that.
Thara could not begin with the conclusion untill she had the information of the others, via e-mail she received the information.
Nexy week we have an other meeting and we hope that we have found some useful information for our presentation.

Information we found..

Well as promised we will give the information we found for our presentation. Ofcourse not everything, but just a bit to give you a clue about what we are doing exactly.

Adam - in his introduction he explaines what viral marketing is and what we will discuss in our presentation, how do we answer our question (Which role can "Viral Marketing" play for an international music company?).
Martine - she looked for the videoclip, MTV is using, which became popular by viral marketing.
Milou - what kind of ways to promote are there, how can we promote by the internet and what means viral marketing for an international music company?
Lisanne - searched for examples about how viral markething is related to social communities.
Samantha - she didn't find a thing.. jet..

Activities

This weekend we al worked on our part of the presentation. Some of us could not find information others found very useful things. We said we would post the definition of "viral marketing" so here it is: Viral marketing and viral advertising refer to marketing techniques that seek to exploit pre-existing social networks to produce exponential increases in brand awareness, through self-replicating viral processes, analagous to the spread of a computer virus. It can often be word-of-mouth delivered and enhanced online; it can harness the network effect of the Internet and can be very useful in reaching a large number of people rapidly. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viral_marketing ) The defintition we used comes from Wikipedia and we literally copied that, just so we know that we use the correct explanation for this new marketing.
In our next blog we will report on the information everyone has found.

role division

Today we had a meeting from 10 to 12 about the content of our presentation. We made a role division and a basic outline of our presentation. We also made the appointment for our next meeting.

We divided the roles as follows:

Adam - Introduction.

Martine - Examples of international music companies who use viral marketing.

Milou - marketing expenses and marketing strategies including examples of both.
Samantha - pro's and con's of viral marketing for music companies.
Lisanne - viral marketing's relation to social communities with examples.

Thara - Conclusion.

We also found a good definition of what viral marketing actually is. We will post that definition in our next blog.
